One of the fundamental equipments for camping is the portable gas stove. Its use dates back during the 19th century, the time when it was first invented. Presently, there are many types and models to select from which you can use for your own convenience. Some time ago, the only fuel for portable gas stoves is kerosene. Due to safety reasons, other fuels were developed such as butane and propane. Companies such as Coleman, a highly popular American company that specializes in producing different useful products for camping, have made their own line of fuels for camping activities. Some of these are White Gas or Camping Fuel. More importantly, these fuels are more ideal because they can be used in any type of weather. These would still burn even under extremely cold weather. It burns hotter than other liquid fuels because the fuel is clean and refined.

Fortunately if you are planning to purchase a new gas stove there are many to choose from with a variety of different features. A popular one is the Coleman 425F499G 2-burner portable gas stove. It is ideal for those camping adventures. It is very transportable and can be brought anywhere. Place it in a tent, a cabin, or even on outdoor grounds. You will only need 2.5 pints of Coleman White Gas fuel which will last approximately 8 hours worth of burn time. It can even boil a quart of water within four minutes. The 11500 BTU is also included. The weight of the entire set is only 12.5 pounds, making it easy to bring around. You only clean it every after camping trips. Presently, it is also one of the most stylish portable gas stove available in stores. More importantly, the quality, transportability, and the functions of the stove are the real reasons why you will buy this equipment.

One of the biggest necessities when you’re out camping, RVing or at a tailgate is having a cooler. You need to have something that will keep your food and beverages cold and there’s a wide range of portable coolers available. But who said they had to be boring? If you’re looking to get a cooler that is not only functional but will also be the talk of the party, you need to check out the Cruzin Cooler.

If you’ve never run across a Cruzin Cooler before, at first glance they look like a cooler that has been attached to a scooter. But upon closer inspection, it’s much more elaborate than that. What these inventors did was to take a regular portable cooler, divided it up so that the electric motor was in one half while the cooler compartment (which can hold 24 12-oz cans and 8 pounds of ice) is in the other, attached it to a scooter so that the wheels are motorized and threw some handle bars and a seat on the cooler to provide the a cooler that you can ride around wherever you want. The electric motor model has a few different size motors that will determine what type of power you have behind you. The bigger motors are necessary if you’re going to have a lot of weight on the cooler or if you have to go up some fairly steep inclines. Generally, the electric motor can take you up to 10 miles. The cooler can hold a case of beer or any other 12 ounce can but if you don’t think that will be enough (you are camping aren’t you?) you can purchase an attachable wagon that has that ability to hold 72 more cans with ice and support your 350 pound friend.

Buying a Cruzin Cooler will definitely make you the talk of the party and you’ll never have to worry about going anywhere without a cold one with you.

Cooking in the great outdoors isn’t that much different than cooking in your kitchen at home. You just need the right equipment and some preparation ahead of time. An outdoor grill or camp stove is a necessity on your camping checklist, along with the proper cookware and utensils; once you have all these things together, all you need to do is a little planning and some preparation before you leave home and you will be eating very well on your camping trip.

Camping Stove

The basic equipment you need for cooking at the campsite is a camp stove or one of the many quality portable grills available, appropriate cookware and some utensils. The cookware you take with you should be made of a material that can stand direct heat; cast iron is a good choice. Try to choose items that can serve more than one purpose, to conserve space. For example, a deep skillet can be used to fry bacon or make pancakes for breakfast and then be used to fry chicken for dinner. Utensils should have long handles so that hands are kept a good distance from the heat and don’t forget to bring along an oven mitt or two.

Make a list of all the meals you want to prepare on your camping trip and try to do some of the preparation before you leave. It is much easier to do this prep work at home in your kitchen than trying to do it all at the campsite. You can pre-cut vegetables and place them in heavy-duty aluminum foil; they can then be placed directly on the grill and cooked easily. Don’t forget to either butter or oil the inside of the foil so the veggies won’t stick. It is much easier to make hamburger patties at home and store them in a plastic container in a cooler than it is to make the patties at the campsite.

Prepackage single servings of foods in Ziploc bags; things like cereal and chips. This keeps food from going stale or being wasted if the box gets spilled. Pre-cutting carrot and celery sticks makes a handy snack for children and prepackaging salad will allow you to have a nice crunchy tossed salad with your steak.

Keeping camping cooking basics together in storage makes it much easier to get ready for a trip. If everything is all together then you are less likely to forget something. Keep a camping supply box that has all your cookware, utensils and basic supplies like aluminum foil and paper towels with you camping supplies and all you’ll have to do is grab it and go. With just a bit of planning and preparation you will be able to enjoy the same delicious food camping as you do at home.

Purchasing a travel coffee mug doesn’t have to be a frustrating experience. Getting a handle on just a few facts will vastly increase your chances of picking the perfect mug on the first try. Let’s get this item crossed off your camping checklist!

What is most important to you — temperature retention, stylish design, durability, getting to work without spilling coffee, or tea, on you clothes? Or something else entirely? Only you know the answer; whatever it is, use that as the starting point.

For example, say durability is more important to you than style. Then check out some stainless steel travel mugs. And if temperature retention is your next priority, narrow that list to double-walled, vacuum-insulated stainless steel mugs. Focus in on the lids; look for one that has a closable spout so heat is less likely to escape.

Even if your first priority is fashion, these days it’s easy to look stylish with your favorite hot beverage in tow. There’s a wide range of artistic designs and trendy colors being used by mug designers. Many of these travel coffee mug creations, depending on what material they’re made of, won’t leave you holding a cold beverage when you started out with a steaming hot one.

If you’ve broken your previous travel coffee mug and must have a replacement ASAP, check out your nearby chain-owned mini-mart. Failing that, your nearest super-center should have travel mugs. The selection, however, will be limited. If time isn’t a factor, shop around. There’s a wide variety of travel mugs available online, ranging from less than $5 to about $30. Some websites offer free shipping; be sure to check return policies before purchasing your new travel coffee mug.

There’s no reason to become overwhelmed when trying to find the perfect travel coffee mug. It’s just a matter of priorities. And, of course, having a stress-free coffee drinking experience.

In this article we will look at some points on how to choose the best hunting knife for you.

Hunting knives come in many makes and styles as well as many types of steels from carbon steel like 1095 carbon to stainless steels such as 440C,S30V,154CM and A2 too steel and other tool steel varieties. Let’s take a look at some of the different types of hunting knife styles in order to help you pick the best hunting knife:

1. The drop point hunter is by far the best hunting knife style. It is the most popular type for in the field. It is the strongest of the blade types and thicker to. There are many variations of the drop point hunter blade and they are called “modified drop point hunters.” This style of hunting knife comes in both a folder and fixed blade types.

2. The clip point hunter is not as popular as the drop point hunter and not as strong or thick as it either. The clip point is thinner stock and mostly hollow ground. It’s an excellent choice for skinning chores due to the deep belly of the blade. This clip point hunter is also available in a folder or fixed blade.

3. The skinner is an extremely popular knife for hunters. They come in many forms from deep belly skinners to gut hook skinners. These types of skinners are also available in folder and fixed blade versions. The fastest skinner on the market today is called the Wyoming knife and is very light and fast.

It is very important to have the most reliable knives with you when you are in the field. Do your due diligence in research when choosing the best type of hunting knife for you. These are just three points of consideration when you are looking for the best hunting knife.

Take into account that you will be using this to help you when you are camping and hunting not when you are trying to install outdoor deck lights in the yard. Buy the right tools for each job

A proper caravan awning can also help to create space in a campground setting, establishing an alternative outside room for campers to make use of. However, as is the case with most camping products, it is important to ensure that the featured quality of the awning is of the highest standard available. Lower-end awnings may tear or break down due to the poor material quality applied to their fabrication.

Canvas is a thick and durable fabric that is highly considered the most reliable material type used in the fabrication of camper awnings throughout the world. Canvas is fully impermeable, and because of its relative thickness, it is unlikely to tear or wear down easily. Other material types from which awnings can be made include polyester, nylon, and plastic-based materials. Most awnings will be designed with several transparent plastic sections that will allow outside light to filter into the created shelter space. It’s like and an outdoor patio roof assembly. These sections will provide plenty of natural illumination during daylight hours. The majority of modern awnings designed for campers are retractable in that they can be easily rolled up to one side of the camper for easy storage. Retractable caravan awnings have become the norm for most caravans throughout the world.

When searching for an appropriate awning, it is important to look through a broad range of different options before ultimately making a decision. As there are many different awning manufacturers competing for business, price ranges will vary greatly between each individual company. There are many different mass manufacturers that can be found with a simple online search. These manufacturers will usually operate online stores from which a broad selection of awning types can be ordered. Awnings can also be purchased from local camping stores, although you are likely to find a wider range of options online. For an appropriate vintage awning for your vintage camper, please view the vintage camper supply company here: Buy Vintage Camper Awnings.

A dome tent provides plenty of space for camping. When you are camping in an area that doesn’t have room for your folding camper, or need to walk in to your favorite streamside site, the dome tent is a great option. Its design is highly desirable for many reasons. A rounded top makes it more difficult to blow over, which is helpful when storms and high winds come unexpectedly. This shape helps water roll off more easily when it rains, which helps keep everyone inside warm and dry. In addition, a round top provides a taller ceiling in the middle, which makes it easier to move around inside.

There are many different sizes and colors available in a family dome tent. The larger sizes can sleep up to 8 people, though most groups will not need quite so much space. However, if you have plenty of gear and are using cots, you may want the additional space. Most products come with a rain fly, which is a protective outer that sits on top of the roof. This feature helps protect from rain and from the sun.

If you are interested in a coleman tent, there are many models to choose from. A basic product that sleeps 4, like the evanston 4,is suitable for most outdoor camping situations. If you are looking for something more spacious with some additional features, the elite evanston 8 will provide plenty of space and comes with a hinged front door. This makes getting in an out much easier for those who are taller.

An ozark trail product can come in many different sizes as well. The larger models can sleep up to 8 people and will fit two queen size air mattresses comfortably. If you plan on being on for more than a few days, there is also a three room luxury model, for those with large groups who desire some privacy. This model even includes a hanging basket to keep small items off the ground.

These products are available in many department stores and online. Most models are easy to put up in 20 minutes or less. Dome tent poles usually snap together easily, often just by shaking them. They attach to the structure with plastic clips and make set up a breeze. Whether your group is large or small, you can find a suitable with the features you want, for under $200.

You can get other options for your tent like a zipper door for your extension cord. You can also get a special cooler door to access your cooler without even getting out of your tent. There are so many different options for your tent you need to take your time and research them.

Living fulltime on the road in a recreational vehicle is cherished dream of many people. These people aiming to live a life of perpetual travel are willing to give up the benefits of a large house on land in exchange for the freedom to travel wherever and whenever they like. Thankfully, many of the luxuries of a traditional home are available in RV’s. This article will briefly discuss RV refrigerators.

Fulltime Rving? You’ll Need a Great RV Refrigerator!

Most RVs – nearly all except the smallest of travel trailers or folding campers – come with a space intended to house an RV fridge freezer. Many motorhomes will come with an RV refrigerator pre-installed, whilst others leave it to the buyer to provide a fridge themselves.

When buying a recreational vehicle fridge to install in your motor home – either as a new install or as an upgrade – care must be taken to purchase an appropriate model. In most cases the best choice is to purchase a 3 way refrigerator.

RV 3 way fridges are by far the most versatile of the options available. They are unique in that they offer the capability to power your RV cooling from any of three different power sources.

When spending time in a well-equipped camping ground with free (or cheap) hookups, then the preferred means of running the fridge is to plug the RV into the sites power, and let the refrigerator draw on mains power.

For less sophisticated RV parks, hookups are often not available. In those situations – or for when you simply do not want to pay the extra money for the hookup – 3 way refrigerators can be switched to run on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (usually propane). Most travel trailers, caravans and Recreational vehicles carry a propane tank big enough to provide at least a couple of weeks of RV refrigeration.

Finally, for those times you are driving down the road, your 3 way fridge can be set to draw power from your car battery – though care should be taken only to do this with the engine running so as to avoid running your vehicles 12v DC battery down.

Quality brands such as Dometic and Norcold are highly recommended for use by those living the nomadic RV lifestyle. While a substantial investment they should provide years of quality service. Spend a little extra if needed to ensure you purchase a reliable unit.

An RV refrigerator installed in your motorhome can make a real difference in the enjoyment of travels on your road. I strongly recommend them.

Some people don’t get to go camping as often as they’d like to due to the costs of outdoor adventures. After all, there are considerable costs associated with camping from the money it takes to get the proper equipment to registering for a good campsite. When everything is all added up a camping trip can cost a small family of four a tidy sum. The good news is that there are many handy ways you can save money on certain camping supplies. While you should never cut corners on the absolute basics, look to use common household items in place of expensive outdoor gear. Here are some tips to get you started on a more economically sound camping trip.

What you need for your camping checklist:

1. Plastic bottles are great for recycling, but the can also come in handy when camping. Instead of buying an expensive canteen, you can use a water bottle instead. Reusable plastic containers are also much preferred for storing food than disposable bags that will run up your bill after a while.

2. Use and old exercise pad or piece of foam to line the surface under your sleeping bag. Most people have a pad of some type lying around their house and these are perfect to bring for camping trips.

3. Water and rain can ruin a camping trip like nothing else. So be prepared by bringing an old shower curtain to insulate you from wetness and moisture. You can put it under your tent or over it if it happens to rain on your adventure.

4. If you will be camping under good conditions then you can afford to go with a more inexpensive camping tent. Cheap tents are perfect for campsites next to a lot of amenities since you won’t truly be “roughing it”. You can also use on if you have room in your car or camper to sleep. Dome tents are a favorite for family camping.

5. Instead of buying a new BBQ for camping, all you need is an old oven grill. When it times to cook, just prop up the grill with rocks or dig a fire pit and you’ve got yourself a good old-fashioned barbeque that will give you some great food.

6. Keep a box in your closet or garage with clothers that are still serviceable, but worn our or out of style. They’re perfect for camping! Especially your old holy bathrobe and slippers – they’ll really come in handy for the trek to the restroom, and everyone does it!

7. Keep a box for your kitchen castoffs – the frying pan you don’t want anymore, the saucepan that not pretty enough for home use anymore. Be on the alert for tupperware or rubbermade products you can put to use!

8. Scout the drugstores and sports stores in late summer for deals on out of season merchandise. If you can add an inflatable bed and air pump to blow it up, you’ll be happy you did! Be on the lookout for extra large and sturdy tarps to put under your tent, it’ll extend its lifetime. And if your tent is a hand-me-down, take duct tape and scissors for anyqick repairs neccessary!

Have a fun and economical camping trip!

Many people enjoy hiking for reasons such as good exercise and they appreciate all that nature has to offer. Because of their love of nature, they want to know if the any of their outdoor activities have any impact on nature. The more they can decrease their “footprint” on nature, the better.

Many hikers like exploring different areas out in the wild because they want to see nature in all its natural beauty. Most hikers abide by the saying “leave no trace” which means that they should not leave or imprint anything that will let other hikers know that they have been staying on those grounds. Environmentalists are hoping to decrease the negative impact of hikers on the environment and their disturbance on the ecosystem. To lesson the impact, below are some tips.

One way not to negatively impact nature is to stay on state approved camp grounds and not to venture beyond designated areas during mating season. It is just natural that animals would be on edge if they feel that their habitat and young are threatened.

Many hikers leave human waste on the ground and the best thing to do about is to make a cathole. A cathole is usually a deep hole and inside it is the human waste which should be covered afterwards. They usually mark them with a stick to warn other hikers not to make another cathole or to avoid that area.

Many hikers usually eat hiking MRE meals to sustain the energy that they need in order to finish their hike. Since it is a compact food package, it barely leaves any garbage. Many hikers respect the environment which is why they keep their trash in the bag provided by the MRE kit. One should put all his waste in the bag and throw it if there are available trash cans in the area or carry it with them by putting it in his backpack. Less harm will be done to the environment if traces of the food will not be left behind after a hiker eats.

It is important to care for the environment because it is what sustains the ecosystem and the people living in the nearby areas. Proper disposal of human and food products it is recommended to ensure that animals and other living creatures will not be disturbed in their natural habitat.

Make more comprehensive plans for food and waste storage when hiking in bear country. Utilize a bear resistant canister for your food and trash. They weight about 2.5 pouunds, and will store a carefully planned meal plan for one person for a week. Some areas require you to hike out toilet paper. Yellowstone has very strict regulations for backpacking in bear country. Take time to familiarize yourself with the requirements about bringing no scented objects, femals should not be menstruating, and prepare to pitch your tent facing a climbable treee. Better to be prepared than scared!

Have fun on your next backpacking trip, and don’t forget your camping checklist!
