This post contains an actual listing on eBay for a folding tent camper trailer for a motorcycle that was so well written and clever, and included a fabulous video, that the ad is displayed here! At the time of the listing, July 5, 2009, there was one bid for $643. and the reserve was not met. What that means is that the owner has set a minimum bid amount, and if your bid for this motorcycle folding camping trailer is less than the minimum reserve, the sale will not be completed. The text below was actually written by the seller. Some of the folding motorcycle camper listing (the seller’s telephone number) has been edited out, because this post will be hanging around on the internet long after the sale of this incredible folding motorcycle tent camper. If you’re interested in contacting the seller, and you’re reading this in July of ‘09, here’s the eBay listing link:

Motorcycle Folding Tent Trailer Camper – as described by the sellers in an eBay listing – some editing here, for the most part it’s the original text – please view the eBay listing for the original listing as written by the seller:

The BunkHouse Motorcycle Camper Travel Trailer – King-Sized Luxury

Compact Motorcycle Tent Trailer Tows Easily – Stores In a Small Space When You Aren’t Using It.

Get In The Action!

When you go to a motorcycle rally or similar event, you want to be out in nature and in the middle of the action, not some stuffy motel room!

If you’re like me, you want to ride your BIKE to the rally, not tow it in a trailer like you’re hauling some prized pig to the county fair.

I love camping events – because the daytime stuff is fun, but what I really love is the nightlife – the chance to catch-up with old friends and meet new ones around the campfire.

When I was younger I used to love camping so much I would camp just about anywhere – rolling out my sleeping bag on a thin pad on the ground under the stars… but that’s the single-guy lifestyle. If you’ve got a lady in your life, or if you are a lady yourself, or if you’re just a guy whose been around enough to figure comfort beats discomfort most of the time, then you’ll love camping at events in this Bunkhouse trailer.

NOT FOR THOSE WHO “ENJOY ROUGHING IT” (You’ll want the luxury of a motorcycle folding tent trailer.)

When my bones started to get a little creaky somehow the hobo thing of sleeping under the stars or on the cold, hard earth just wasn’t appealing to me anymore…. Maybe it was several exeperiences dealing with muddy weekends sleeping on the floor of a dome tent, grime all over everything, that pushed me over the edge.

Not all compact motorcycle trailers are created equal. Not by a long shot – and the Bunkhouse is widely acknowledged to be one of the roomiest, comfiest, and easy-towing trailers out there.

Some of the motorcycle trailers out there look like they were designed by and made by bachelors – or at least guys who couldn’t get their girls to come along for a camping weekend.

That’s why there is such a price spread on these sought-after trailers. Some of the really pricey models are so elaborate you might be sketchy about towing them with a bike – but not with the Bunkhouse.

->Only weighs about 325 pounds – easy towing and easy to lift the tongue and maneuver it by hand.

->Heavy-duty fiberglass body – at the edge it’s nearly 1/4″ thick

->Large storage area (26 cubic foot) easily accessed with camper set up or closed.

->Includes an ice-chest case (and the ice-chest, too)

->Rear light bar with 5 bright running-lights on the back, and 2 on each side, giving you incredible visibility on the road – plus the deluxe light kit just looks… deluxe!

->Independent suspension on each wheel.

->Spare wheel and tire stowed in a recessed area in the payload bottom.

->Fiberglass body with a smooth gel-coat finish. It has a few scuffs on the fenders but the permanent black finish still looks incredible!

->Nice sculpted fenders over the wheels, and mud flaps too!

->Side marker lights give you lots of light visibility from all angles.

->Front snap on padded “bra” made from heavy black vinyl. Prevents road gravel from dinging the fiberglass shell.

->Heavy duty matching black vinyl cover for cooler

->Air-springs help lift payload-cover and hold it open when you are camped

->4 heavy-duty jacks at each corner make leveling easy for rock-solid stability.

->Has bubble-levels on one side and on the back.

->Payload compartment locks with a key.

->Cover has large zipper pocket that holds lawn chairs ect.

->Spare wheel and tire in recessed compatment.

->Huge king sized bed 72” wide and 84” wide

->You’ll be off the ground in your comfy king-size bed, slithery things won’t be crawling into your sleeping bag with you.

->Looks sharp! because it’s not some boxy-thing. The sleak heavy-duty fiberglass shell really looks nice.

We always had people asking us about our tent trailer wherever we set it up. The inventive features and slick fiberglass shell with lights all around and the ice-chest on the tongue always got people curious. When they saw the whole thing set-up they were thrilled!

Watch the 10-minute video to see us set-up and take-down the actual trailer for sale here. You’ll get a realistic idea of how it works.

Note: the current models of the trailer are viewable at

http://www.bf-specialties.com

The Facts Of Life With This Bunkhouse Trailer

Like every tent I have ever set-up, this one has it’s quirks.

This is an older model, but the engineering is solid. It’s not some funky old model that died because it wasn’t good. The fiberglass trailer body and chassis is the same one used on Bunkhouse trailers today. Where this trailer differs is in the tent design.

Bunkhouse was an innovator in lightweight tent trailers for motorcycle towing. The Bunkhouse design is emulated by many manufacturers of motorcycle tent trailers because it is functional, lightweight and roomy.

Tent portion of this trailer is in three parts:

1. The sleeping tent which pops open in about 10 seconds. It’s easy for one person to set-up.

2. The canopy, which consists of a heavy-duty vinyl awning which zips to the crest of the sleeping tent. The canopy is cantilevered out from the corners of the bed platform on two u-shaped poles. The canopy can be left in place while traveling but it’s quite tricky for one person, with no help, to open the tent with the canopy zipped to the crest. The solution is to either have help or unzip the awning from the crest of the tent.

3. The vestibule which zips and snaps to the canopy and sleeping tent, joining all the parts together for a bug-proof and comfortable tent area big enough to fit some camp chairs in. If just stopping for the night or if the weather is nice you might not want to put it on, because there is a lot of zipping to be done.

I don’t think it’s practical to travel with the vestibule zipped to the sleeping tent and awning – but I’ve never tried because it’s a lot of material to handle when setting-up or packing up. Your own experience might be different.

The fabric all matches for everything, heavy-duty waterproof vinyl for the top and brown nylon for the sides. The awning and vestibule were sold as accessories when this trailer was new in 1994.

It’s important for you to understand that the poles these trailer companies use are not super-heavy-duty. They are plenty-strong but if you abuse them they will bend and if they bend too far the sliding ones won’t slide well. If bend really far a poll could develop an actual kink and then you’ll have to repair or replace it.

As it is lifting the bed to open the trailer requires “oomph” – it’s not hard but you when you do it you’ll understand why the manufacturer works so hard at balancing strength with light-weight.

The way to not mess-up the tubular poles is to follow the procedure shown in our video so they don’t get tweaked, twisted, bent, or broken. Learn not to strain the supports when you set-up and take-down the tent and you will have a lot of satisfaction. Get sloppy and you’ll probably end-up distorting a pole or two and have to kick yourself for your carelessness.

When I bought this trailer the previous owner had lent it to a friend who was clueless and bent some of the poles. I am extremely handy however and I repaired them in such a way that they are stronger than if you bought new ones from the factory – which is an expensive repair because the poles are long u-shaped supports which are so large shipping costs would be very high.

The design of this trailer is balanced for light-weight, not super-duty strength, like a lot of RV stuff in fact. Treat the trailer with a gentle touch and you’ll enjoy it a lot.

Last time I checked all the lights on the back and the running lights worked. I think one of the side lights might have been giving me trouble. I towed this with a car, not a bike so it’s set up with a 6-prong round wiring harness. You can switch it to whatever wiring harness you like if you need to – an easy project.

The tenting material of the trailer has had gentle wear. There are no holes I’m aware of but around the edges where it attaches to the bed there are some wear spots. There is discoloration of the heavy-duty waterproof vinyl roofing portions here and there. It’s not ugly, just the kind of stuff tents pick up when you use them in real camping situations.

Basically, the trailer is broken-in and has many more years of life left if you take care of it. When the time comes if you use it heavily or damage it somehow you can repair or replace the canvas, but for now it’s perfectly functional and will keep you dry and prevent bugs from biting you while you sleep.

You may want to invest in a small trailer-light set compatible with your vehicle – in the event that your vehicle doesn’t work right-away with this trailer’s wiring you can hook-up the light set (less than $50) and get it home safely without getting stopped for lighting problems. Wiring with trailers is always a funky thing – the best plan is to have a plan for something not working.

A popup tent is very different than a conventional tent designs. They have flexible frames will immediately spring into a tent once they have been opened. They are one of the greatest pieces of camping equipment that’s been invented. These tents are light, quick to fold, and small so they can be stored easily. Most conventional tent manufacturers also create popup designs made from the same high quality materials that they use for their other tents. CampRight is a world renowned tent brand that specializes in pop up tents. They provide hundreds of different sizes and shapes for one person, multiple people, and children.

To set up your popup tent, find an open area with a flat surface. The ground should be high to prevent flooding at night. Most campsites have ideal areas for popup campers, but if you are camping outdoors, then you will need to find a suitable spot yourself. Pick away any sticks, stones, or other sharp objects that may damage the underside of your tent and make it uncomfortable to sleep on.

Unpack your tent and remove the restraining bag, this will cause the tent to ‘pop’ open. Turn the tent to right side up with the faced in its proper position. If you have to pitch it on an uneven or incline surface, make sure that the floor faces downhill to prevent flooding. Pop up tent campers should not open their tent nearby trees or large objects to prevent them from getting in the way of the ‘popping’ mechanism.

Secure the fastenings into the ground by pushing them through the loops. If the ground is hard, you will need to use a hammer or another hard object to push the pegs in. Tent campers should always have an extra peg on hand in case one of them gets lots or broken. After, secure the ropes to finish the job.

A popup tent is a great way to introduce the family to camping, at a relatively low price. Once your get hooked on camping, you’ll probably find yourself wandering about campgrounds yearning for the next step up – the folding camper!

A collapsible camping chair may be the most recognizable and common of chairs used for camping. They are lightweight, cozy, and easy to carry. Additionally, they are relatively inexpensive and come in a wide variety of sizes, from child-size to large. You can get them in almost any color or pattern you desire; they are even available with team logos imprinted on them. There are other types of portable camping chairs, including backpack chairs and small stadium seats. Depending on your lifestyle, one of these types of chairs may be the best choice. If you go camping a lot and want something sturdier, you could purchase heavy duty chairs. They weigh more and can be harder to handle, but they will last a long time and provide a stable place to sit.

A good camping chair is an excellent investment for anyone. If properly cared for, they will last for a long time. These chairs can be used for many different outdoor activities, from camping to watching sporting events like softball and baseball games. They can be used at the beach or easily carried to a friend’s barbecue; if you buy a chair you will know that you always have a comfortable place to sit, regardless of the situation.

Outdoor camping chairs come in so many styles; there is sure to be one that is perfect for you. Whether you are a camping enthusiast or you simply enjoy relaxing on the beach, having one will ensure that your outdoor experiences are pleasant and relaxing.

You can tell from the video that there are quite a few parts to keep track of for the Raclet Folding Camper. Although one man is assembling the folding camper, you’ve got to think of whether this will be practical for you. Will you have ample opportunity to practice the assembly prior to taking the Racelet on the road? What will it be like for you to attempt to assemble this folding camper in the dark after a long day on the road? Will you end up setting it up holding lanterns and flashlights while the children are asleep in the car? Will you just give up in frustration and sleep your first night in the car too?

Please give your comments for our Raclet Folding Camper review. Not having owned one myself, I’m just going on this video. Do you own or are you looking to buy a Raclet folding camper? What are your thoughts as it relates to set-up, cost, longevity and ease of use? Your comments and concerns are appreciated!

Posted by Guest Author

When I purchased my first RV I was excited and my wife and I immediately headed out to the woods for our first camping trip. The plan was to camp out for three days. The first night, my wife and I had a blast and stayed up late drinking vino and playing cards. We were running the lights, playing the radio and were oblivious to anything that could go wrong. The following morning when we woke up, we reached for a cold drink from the refrigerator and realized that the refrigerator was no longer working. Upon further inspection we realized that none of the lights, CO2 detector or anything else that relied on the RV battery was functional. My immediate reaction was that we must have purchased a lemon and I was furious.

We packed up that morning and immediately headed back to the place where we had purchased the RV. When I pulled into the parking lot the man who sold us the RV saw me and immediately walked over to see what was up. I told him that we had been camping overnight and that everything died and that we must have been sold a lemon. He immediately had a mechanic come out to take a look and he promptly determined that we had drained our battery. Thus began my education on RV power consumption, proper RV battery sizing, and alternative energy for RVs.

Our RV had a single battery installed. What I did not realize was that this was woefully inadequate. The reason that I did not realize this was because I had no idea how to determine how much power I needed vs. what I actually had available in a single battery. Understanding how much power you need takes some time to calculate and is a function of how many DC amps each electrical item in your RV is using, times the number of hours they will be used. For instance if your refrigerator is using 1 Amp per hour and you plan to run it for 24 hours, you need a battery that can supply 24 Amp Hours of power. That is why you often see deep cycle batteries used in RVs rated in Amp Hours. However, it gets even more complicated since you should never run a battery below 50% of capacity. Additionally, the refrigerator is not the only item drawing power. How about the lights, radio, CO2 detector, etc? These questions apply not only for rv’s, but for campers, pop-up trailers, tent trailers and folding campers.

When I took a year off to travel across country and purchased my second RV, things got even more complicated. I wanted to install an inverter and use several AC appliances such as a TV, satellite dish, internet satellite dish, laptop computer, etc. Since the inverter ran off of the battery bank and converted DC into AC power, I had to have a very good understating of how much power I needed so that I could not only size the battery bank appropriately, but also the inverter, and the solar panels that I was going to use to recharge the batteries daily. Converting DC into AC added a whole new dimension and set of calculations to the problem. Fortunately, it is not a difficult as it seems if you can find all the information you need in one place.

Although I was able to find information in various places on the web, I could not find it all in one place. That is why I created a website to document my install for others to learn from. If you are interested in learning how to calculate your RV power consumption needs, want to learn about using RV solar panels, want to know more about RV batteries and inverters, then visit us at http://www.solarrvpanels.com/.

Since summer is now in full swing, many of us are planning big camping trip. Although some people like to carry everything they need on their back, the reality is that most of us go camping pretty close to our car these days. Although they can be great satisfaction in carrying everything you need into the wilderness, it is much more convenient to be of a to go back to the car and get things easily. It is best to be prepared before you set out, in this means picking up any extra camping gear that you might need. One thing that you really should consider getting is a camping sphere chair. Although you might have seen the other camp chairs, a large sphere chair is a lot more comfortable.

What makes these chairs so good for camping, is that they are very easy to transport, but also very comfortable. As far as transportation goes, all you need to do is fold your chair up flat and it will fit inside your trunk, van, truck, or camper. When you want to use it all you need to do is pull it out, unfolded and you are ready to go. Most of these chairs way about 8 to 10 pounds depending on the size and model.

When choosing a good sphere chair for camping, you want to make sure you get one that can stand up to the elements. Most of the ones meant for outdoor use are made out of of material they can get wet. When you are camping, things get wet a lot in the last thing you want is to have a chair that will get ruined in the rain. Most sphere chairs will try within minutes if left in the sun or wipe down with a towel. Be aware that there are certain types that are meant for indoor use. These kind usually cost more, and come with a thick pad on them. Although this type is a lot more comfortable, you can get wet and they usually don’t fold up either.

This new Hybrid Folding Camper is in approximately the range of $25,000. (including tax, dealer prep, and a long list of small fees.) We don’t quote specific prices here because the purpose of this article is to review the hybrid travel trailer camper itself, not to provide price comparisons for different folding camper or hybrid trailer camper showrooms. You’ll find the local rv dealer showroom will provide price information for you. An rv dealer should be consulted when you’re ready to calculate exact dollar prices for a specific hard sided folding travel trailer model. You’ll need to arrange for rv insurance as well.

For detailed information about the Jayco 17C expandable folding hardwalls travel trailer and other hybrid travel trailers, your local dealer can provide specific informataion. I visited the RV showroom (rvs, campers, folding campers – pop-up trailers) Manteca Trailer and Camper dealer recently and had a great time walking the lot with their top salesman, Reggie Rojas. (209) 712-0678. If you need any help with your hybrid travel purchase give Reggie a call – (tell him Penny sent you!). If you’re on your way to Yosemite via Hwy 120, be sure to drop by the Manteca RV dealer, one of the biggest and best in the state! Their address is 2006 E. Yosemite Ave, Manteca CA. The main telephone number is (209) 239-1267. They have a beautiful showroom, and a full lot of the latest and best folding campers, hybrid travel trailers, 5th wheels and motorhomes. They are an autorized Jayco dealer, and carry other rv brands also. You’ll find a selection of used rvs also. The service bay is well qualified.

Do you own or are you looking for a Hybrid Folding Trailer? Please leave a comment with your thoughts about this unique type of expandable folding hardwalls travel trailer.

These days many campers spend their money on chairs, as they are generally affordable and can give a better and more comfortable camping experience. And for that reason, you should consider getting padded camping chairs.

Since chairs are not the only camping equipment you need, you shouldn’t break the bank just to get one. And the good news is you don’t need to do that, as there are many cheap options available. However, the few extra dollars you spend for a padded one will be worth it, considering the comfort you’ll get in return.

Among many other options, Coleman camping chairs still have the best quality in the field. Just like other manufactures, Coleman offers a great variety of chairs from simple reclining camping chairs and outdoor camping chairs, to heavy duty camping chairs, lawn chairs, and even double camping chairs. To really understand the differences between these chairs, it is highly recommended that you do some research first.

It would be good if you know what kind of occasion you are going to use your chair for. That will help you determine if you need a weather proof outdoor camping chair or just a simple one for indoor use, a heavy duty camping chair that lets you rest your arms and place your coffee cup down or just a cheap three legged stool. You should then also be able to decide how many chairs you need for the occasion and how much money you want to invest.

Whatever kind of chair you need, you can never go wrong with padded camping chairs, especially the oversized ones. Of course they will cost a little more but the good thing is that big padded chairs are perfect for any occasions and people of any size. Just make sure that the chair of your choice folds and unfolds easily, and is light enough to carry around. Also check if it is sturdy and weather proof, as a camping chair should be able to stand the pressure placed on it.

When you’re shopping for rv trailer parts and camper trailer parts there are several items to keep in mind:

Can you buy your rv trailer parts and camper trailer parts directly from the manufacturer of the rv trailer or camper trailer?

Can you buy the rv trailer parts or camper trailer parts from a parts warehouse that supplies the correct parts for your rv trailer or camper trailer?

Is there a used rv trailer parts or camper trailer parts supplier? If you have a vintage camper or vintage trailer it’s probably not possible to purchase original parts that were manufactured for your camper or trailer. You can try a parts seller that specializes in vintage camper parts.

eBay is very well set up to buy RV Trailer Parts and Camper Trailer Parts. Have you shopped for your parts on eBay before?

It’s actually quite easy, and I have saved the link for you: Click Here: RV Trailer Parts and Camper Trailer Parts
